After the show, the shuttle bus will take everyone back to the Rusty Edge for an after party with the athletes and music by The Dead Strings.”

Bomb Snow Magazine is hosting the event. They are an art, ski and snowboard publication out of Bozeman, Mt.

“[We’re] dedicated to providing readers with legitimate content through crafty design, quality photography and progressive ideas. We are the only quarterly publication that prints once a year,” said Heath.

The winner will be chosen by the competitors on Apr. 9, at the Vogue, Heath welcomes crowd participation to help the teams decide who takes home the prize.

Bomb Snow is stoked that they picked Fernie as the location for the event.

“We chose Fernie for its world-class ski terrain and down-to-earth vibe. The feedback has been great; everyone in town from business owners to tourists have been very receptive to the event,” said Heath. “The overall impression we’ve gotten is that people are excited to come see some films and get down at The Rusty Edge.”

The eight teams will form a cross boarder clash, with teams from both Canada and the US participating.

“There are eight teams in total. There’s the local favourites; the Burrrrrrrrrlapz crew, a team from Revelstoke, two from Jackson Hole, two from Bozeman, one from Salt Lake City, and a team from Big Sky that won the Wild Card Contest that we held with Teton Gravity Research earlier this year,” said Heath. “Some of the names include Dylan Siggers, Dick Aspen, Spencer Harkins, Kyle Taylor, and Patrick Brown. You can check out some of the teams’ videos online at fernie4.com.”

This will be the first time that this format for a film festival, and Heath is looking forward to what it will bring.

“We’ve done film festivals before, but The Fernie 4 is different. We’ve never done an event that showcases all fresh, original, local footage,” said Heath.
