Fibre art market offers diverse delights in South Surrey

Looking for fibre art pieces as thoughtful and attractive gifts – or to add colour and texture to your own environment?

Semiahmoo Arts will showcase a wide variety of imaginative fibre art work for sale this weekend (Oct 22-23) at South Surrey Recreation and Arts Centre.

Open hours for the market are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

In the Fibre Art Market, some 15 artisans will display and sell diverse delights in fibre arts disciplines as felting, knitting, silk painting, silk dyeing, weaving, embroidery, textile collage, wearables, tapestries and more.

There will also be a finger-knitting workshop for children five years and up (and their parents or caregivers) Oct. 22 at 1 p.m.

The location is the Turnbull Gallery at the centre (14601 20 Ave.) and the all-ages event offers free admission and free parking.
