Finger Eleven will be rolling into Kelowna  on Wednesday, Oct.28 at the Kelowna Community Theatre.

Finger Eleven is a Canadian rock band that first formed in their Burlington, ON high school in 1989 as the “Rainbow Butt Monkeys”. The band has achieved a devoted following throughout their existence which began with money they won from a rock band search contest on southern Ontario’s 97.7 HTZ-FM’s “Rocksearch” competition.

Thelocal winner of the Finger Eleven “Fall of the Hammer” contest, Cosmic Brew will be opening for Finger Eleven at the Wednesday night concert.

Penticton based band Cosmic Brew, was chosen from among 22 other band entries by votes through Power 104. The top 5 bands were then screened by Finger Eleven, and the winner was chosen to perform an opening set. According to posts on Cosmic Brew’s Facebook page, the band is “so stoked” and believes that it will be “an epic night of rock and roll” on Oct. 28 at the Kelowna Community Theatre.

Comprised of three members: Mason on lead guitar and vocals, Kris on bass, and newcomer Josh on drums, this trio has quickly become one of the Okanagan’s most dynamic new rock bands. Influenced by musicians such as Led Zeppelin, The Sheepdogs, T-Rex and others, the band is hard rock, commanding the stage and energizing the crowd.

he group recently won Penticton’s Battle of the Bands competition, and has performed at shows, private gigs, and festivals all throughout the region—even going beyond the normal scope of young performers and teaming up with Skaha Ford earlier this year to fundraise for a teen cancer patient. Showcasing a blend of classic and current rock, as well as original material, Cosmic Brew is eager for a chance to “rock with Finger Eleven”.

Also performing alongside Finger Eleven is Vancouver-based alternative rock band Head of the Herd. Formed on a trip to Boise, Idaho in 2010 to watch college football, Head of the Herd has toured with Guns n’ Roses, Theory of a Deadman, Alice In Chains, played major festivals including Boonstock and Squamish Valley Music Festival, and completed headlining tours since the release of their second album “By This Time Tomorrow” in 2013. After being awarded Best New Rock Group in 2014 at the Canadian Radio Music Awards, the band toured the festival circuit, and took to the studio in 2015 travelling around the world to record their 3rd full-length album “Birds on the Roof” released earlier this fall.

Characterized as “modern blues with one hell of an edge”, Head of the Herd has been touring with Finger Eleven across Canada and is set to hit Kelowna this Wednesday night.

Finger Eleven is armed with their familiar, aggressive sound, reminiscent of their original vibe, eager to share their new music with their fans and get back onto the tour circuit. KeyNote Productions & Power 104 are proud to present Finger Eleven LIVE in concert at the Kelowna Community Theatre on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 8:00pm.
