Canadian rock band Flash Lightnin’ were just announced as openers for the upcoming ZZ Top tour across Western Canada.
The show is in Kelowna Thursday, March 20 at Prospera Place.
They have a new record coming out on April 29 on Pheromone Recordings. For The Sinners, is their second full-length album and was recorded by Juno Award winning producer Gavin Brown (The Tragically Hip, Billy Talent, Metric).
Their high energy live shows and Darren Glover’s guitar skill (he’s a killer player but he’s also an encyclopedia of guitar riffs and gear knowledge) have earned the respect from some of the best. They’ve toured with Eagles of Death Metal, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals and Metric to name a few.
For The Sinners is the Toronto trio’s second full-length effort and will be available April 29 from Pheromone Recordings.
For the new album, guitar-hero Darren Glover and bassist Darcy Yates enlisted Juno Award-winning producer Gavin Brown (The Tragically Hip, Billy Talent, Metric) to capture their electrifying live sound on record. Brown does double duty on the record, both twiddling the knobs and pummelling the drums.
The band wrote more than 30 songs, but only 10 made the final cut. What remains are stadium-ready bangers (“Last Breath”), stripped-down acoustic ballads (“Hard Feelings”), and working-class anthems (“Born With Money”) that reveal the band’s far-reaching influences.
On the first single, “One Pill”, the band sound ruthless and unyielding. The track has been a steady fixture in the Top 30 on alternative and active rock radio stations for over four months.
