Fly fishing series reels in audience

Fly Fusion TV launched their five part series at the Vogue Theatre last Friday.

Reeling in an audience of fly fishing fanatics, Fly Fusion TV launched their five part series at the Vogue Theatre last Friday.

Sponsored by Tourism Fernie, the series explored the adrenaline rush of fly fishing in the picturesque Rocky Mountains.

“It was pretty much the perfect setting,” producer Derek Bird said of filming in Fernie, noting that they spent a lot of money on production and were able to get some amazing footage of the Rockies.

With assistance from Ascent Helicopters, the majority of the filming was done in the Fernie area. The crew began filming in March 2014 but due to unfavourable weather conditions, mainly a large quantity of snow, they were forced to return in April to continue filming.

Following Friday’s world premiere, the series is set to launch on the World Fishing Network on April 7 at 8:30 p.m.
