A chance meeting at an open mic session led to a perfect pairing of folk music, now set to take the stage in the McMillan Arts Centre’s Folk at the Mac series.
Jeffrey Randle and Katelyn Wood of Nanaimo will get toes tapping with a set of both well-known songs and catchy originals across a range of genres Friday, Feb. 19, beginning at 7 p.m.
Randle, a singer-songwriter and guitarist, and Wood, an emerging vocalist, have blended their individual melodies and harmonies in both performance and recording since meeting in July of 2014. Hailing from Nanaimo, the pair have been working together, layering their vocals over Randle’s percussive and soulful guitar.
Doors open for Friday’s show at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15, or $12 for OCAC members, and may be purchased in advance at The MAC, 133 McMillan Street in Parksville.
