The audience left with smiles on their faces and sore tummies from laughing so hard at the Gala opening production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Feb. 23.

If this is any indication, this will be another very successful and hilarious production put on by the 100 Mile Performing Arts Society.

Hysterium (Ben Pilger), a brilliantly funny slave to Senex (John Blewett) and his wife Domina (Shelly Carrera), is put in charge of keeping their son, Hero (Ian Levick), away from the Philia (Nicole Weir) a lovely courtesan whom he has fallen in love with and who has been sold to the warrior Miles Gloriousus (Brian Weir), by Marcus Lycus (Eric Storteboom) courtesan buyer and seller.

Pseudolus (Nick Goshorn), Hero’s slave, works creative and funny schemes to get Hero and Philia together in exchange for his freedom from slavery.

The laughs just don’t stop throughout the production, so don’t miss out on the fun.

Folks have a few more opportunities to see this hilarious production at Martin Exeter Hall. There are performances March 1 and 2 at 7 p.m.; and on March 3 at 1 (matinee) and 7 p.m.

Tickets are $15 and are available at Didi’s, Donex and Curves.
