Free concerts, great Okanagan musicians, beautiful Lake Country parks—they all come together every Saturday night in July and August, thanks to the Lake Country Open Air Performance Society.
The society’s fifth summer concert series, starts with a Canada Day celebration at Beasley Park.
The open air performances will feature a variety of local musicians, performers and artisans at various parks throughout Lake Country through July and August.
All concerts are free. All families need to bring with them are chairs or a blanket to sit on.
The concerts begin Sunday, July 1, at 8 p.m., with Becca Mabbett, winner of Lake County Open Mic Has Talent contest, followed at 8:45 p.m. by 2Step Closer, this year’s Open Mic Has Talent runner-up. The evening will continue with a movie: Journey 2: The Mysterious Island at 9:30 p.m.
The concert continue July 7 and run every Saturday to Aug. 25 (except for Aug. 18, the night of Lake Country’s Summer Jam).
Among the 22 performers this summer are Calum Hughes, A.S.H., Leah West, Jeff Pike, Kath & The Tomcats and Fish on Five Brass Quintet.
