Free skating on Sunday at Oceanside Place Arena

The event takes place on Sunday Oct. 12 from 12:15-1:45 p.m. Admission and skate rentals are free.

The event is open to everyone; however, children 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult aged 19 years or older, said Valerie McNutt, arena programmer for Oceanside Place Arena.

According to McNutt, the free family skate will continue every Sunday at the same place and time until Dec. 21, and will start up again on Jan. 11, 2015 and run until mid-March.

Oceanside Place Arena also hosts a free youth drop-in hockey night for youths aged 13-15 on Monday nights form 7:45-8:45 p.m.

This is “pond hockey” so no equipment in necessary, said McNutt. Free helmet and skate rentals are available at the arena, but participants are encouraged to bring their own skates and helmet if they have them.
