Funny duo plays Beachfest Friday

Watch Kenny Shaw and Brian Temple on Friday Aug. 8 at Parksville Community Park

The weather is hot down at the beach and so is the music in Beachfest’s Summer Concert series.

Upcoming performers that will grace the picnic shelter at Parksville’s Community Park include Kenny Shaw and Brian Temple on Friday Aug. 8.

The comedy duo’s catchphrase is Two Funny Old Boys who can Really Sing. They aim their act at Baby Boomer audiences, performing musical tributes, sweet harmonies and zany antics.

Kenny Shaw has received the BC Country Music Association’s “Entertainer of the Year Award” four times among other honours.

Nanaimo’s Femme Fatales is stacked with female talent in rock n’ roll. The seasoned musicians bring the party and encourage people to bring their dancing shoes on Saturday August 9.

Friday, August 15 Chevy Ray and the Fins will play ‘50s hits including Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly and Sam Cooke and on August 16 local music guru Gerry Barnum and the Variables will play soulful roots and original tunes.
