On March 27, the Fish and Wildlife Compensation Program will host Bats: Mysterious and Misunderstood Creatures, presented by Cori Lausen, one of B.C.’s leading bat experts.

All are welcome to attend and learn about local bats’ biology, distribution and behaviour, and also discover new findings about their overwintering habits, and efforts underway to reduce the spread of white nose syndrome, a major threat to bat populations in North America.

Plans will also be provided on how to build and place your own bat boxes, and information will be provided about the Kootenay Bat Project.

Admission is free to the presentation, which starts at 7 p.m. at Rotacrest Hall. For more information call 250-352-6874.
