Galiano Island Literary Festival back for its eighth year

GALIANO ISLAND — Next weekend, patrons will get the opportunity to rub shoulders with fellow booklovers and star-studded authors on Galiano Island.

The eight annual Galiano Literary Festival will take place Feb. 17 to 19.

Over 30 writers will be at the festival, most of them hailing from B.C., but some as far as Montreal.

This year’s line-up of writers include Victoria-based Steven Price, Vancouver author James Hoggan, Shuswap author Gaul Anderson-Dargatz and many more.

Workshops will take place on flash fiction, poetry and memoir writing will kick off the weekend on the Friday, followed by a welcome reception and readings all weekend long.

The events will be held at The Galiano Oceanfront Inn, a five-minute walk from the ferry terminal, past Galiano Island Books.
