Gallery 7 Theatre holds open auditions on Tuesday, March 8 for the final production, Freud’s Last Session, of its 25th anniversary season.
Auditions are open to all male performers ages 23 to 75 and take place at #100 – 34595 Third Ave. in Abbotsford.
On the day England enters World War II, famous psychiatrist Sigmund Freud and young novelist and Oxford fellow C.S. Lewis engage in an intellectual and emotionally charged debate about some of life’s biggest questions: love, God, relationships, sex and the meaning of life.
As the discussion ensues, the two discover a respect for the other, despite the significant differences of opinion that separate them.
A fictional story brimming with humour and insight, Freud’s last session celebrates friendship and respect as two of the greatest minds from the 20th century tackle the greatest questions of all time.
“This play is important because it shows that two diametrically opposed thinkers can have a discussion and disagree, sometimes strongly, with each other, but still respect and even care for one other,” says Ken Hildebrandt, executive/artistic director for Gallery 7 Theatre.
“Given that debate these days has become so polarizing, this play provides lots of food for thought as these two great and iconic thinkers go head to head”.
The play will be staged May 20, 21 and 25 to 28 at Matsqui Centennial Auditorium. To register for the audition, call 604-504-5940 or visit gallery7theatre.com.
Those interested in working behind the scenes are also invited to attend the audition.
