A month-long art show dedicated to past and present post-secondary students is underway in the city’s north end.

Currently on display at the Nanaimo Art Council’s Gallery is ThemAll, an art show that highlights works from current and former Vancouver Island University visual arts students.

Melanie Godel, co-organizer and president of the Nanaimo Arts Council, said she wanted to create a show that would unite students and alumni.

“I thought it would be a great way to bring together both the past and present art students from the school and give them … a place to exhibit,” Godel said.

The show features a variety of different mediums by a number of artists including Ciro Di Ruocco, Ken van Deventer, Arlen Hogarth, Chantelle Delage and Alyssa Johnson.

Godel, a VIU graduate, wants the show to become annual event.

“This is an event that I am hoping will become an annual thing and that we will be able to promote a little bit more heavily,” she said.

ThemAll runs until the end of the month at the arts council’s gallery inside Nanaimo North Town Centre, 4750 Rutherford Rd. For more information, please visit www.on.fb.me/1EReDYZ.
