Garden party goes Wilde for Blue Bridge

Blue Bridge fundraiser is Sunday, June 12 from 1 to 4 p.m. in Oak Bay

Go Wilde for an Afternoon at Blue Bridge Repertory Theatre’s Victorian garden party, hosted in Oak Bay.

This Sunday, June 12, from 1 to 4 p.m. fans of the dramatic can step into the Victorian era at Blue Bridge Repertory Theatre’s spring event.

Guests are encouraged to dress in Victorian costume while enjoying Victorian garden party traditions.

Guests will gather in the Transit Street garden to enjoy live music by Sarah Tradewell while enjoying tea, sandwiches, scones and cream, wine and strawberries and sweets.

Among the afternoon highlights will be a flower pot painting competition.

First, second and third prizes will be awarded and winners will take home their prizes and flower pots.

Proceeds from Blue Bridge Goes Wilde will support Blue Bridge Repertory Theatre’s coming production of The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde.

A live and silent auction will take place through the afternoon.  Guests can bid on a week’s stay in a Gabriola Island home, passes to Rifflandia and Rock the Shores, HarbourCats tickets, a vineyard tour and other items.

Guests can browse Blue Bridge Repertory Theatre’s selection of art for sale.

Blue Bridge Goes Wilde takes place Sunday, June 12 from 1 to 4 p.m. at 815 Transit St.

Tickets are $100 for a single $150 for a pair. Blue Bridge Repertory Theatre artists are invited to attend on a pay-what-you-can basis.

Tickets may be purchased at the Roxy during box office hours, 12 to 4 p.m., Tuesday to Saturday.
