Fernie Alpine Resort is once again hosting Fernival to celebrate the end of another epic winter season.

This year’s fun will include entertainment from April Wine, Canadian music icons with a career spanning over 40 successful years.

The band started out in Nova Scotia late in 1969. The Henman brothers, David and Ritchie, got together with their cousin Jim Henman and fellow musician Myles Goodwyn to form a band called April Wine, a name chosen simply because they were two words that sounded good together.

Fifteen studio albums, three live releases, numerous compilations, a boxed set and thousands of concerts later, April Wine has become enormously popular in Canada, the United States and throughout the world.

In March of 2009, April Wine was inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame during Canadian Music Week in Toronto. They also received The Lifetime Achievement Award for being part of Canadian Music History for 40 years.”

Come see April Wine perform at Fernival at Fernie Alpine Resort on April 14. The concert is completely free for all ages!

Event Gardens (19+) will be open all afternoon with a Griz bar aprés party following in the evening. Also, don’t Miss the new Slope Soaker event on Sunday April 15. Check skifernie.ca for more information.
