On Sunday, March 29 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., the Glacier Grannies will host Art From The Attic at the Courtenay Legion, 367 Cliffe Ave.

Come and browse new and upcycled art, featuring treasures and bargains for every budget and taste. There will be a remarkable collection of works for sale including paintings (watercolour and oil), a Japanese woodcut, sculpture, decorative pottery, photography (modern and antique), pen and ink drawings, batik, felting, quilting, embroidery, Japanese bunka emboidery, Indigenous art from Canada, the United States and Australia, limited-edition signed prints, stained glass and art posters.

In addition to the art, there will be live musical entertainment and delicious home baking available throughout the day. There will also be a children’s colouring table and angel card readings during the afternoon.

The boutique selection of higher-priced works includes a limited-edition Robert Bateman print, two oil paintings by Salt Spring artist Gwen Ruckle, two numbered prints by Bruce Cryer, a silkscreen by Roy Henry Vickers, two signed limited-edition prints by Ojibwe artist Gelineau Fisher and a silkscreen on burlap by Inuit artist Helen Kalvak. Boutique pieces have been professionally appraised and will be sold at below appraised value.

Works in the “Buy Me” medium price range include locally made fabric art pieces, three portrait drawings by African artist R. Klla and a limited-edition print by local artist Luke Raffin. The Bazaar section will feature a wide selection of prints, posters and ceramics at lower prices.

All profits from Art From The Attic will go to the Grandmothers Campaign of the Stephen Lewis Foundation, supporting community-based projects in 15 sub-Saharan countries.
