Gleneden Hall, a community hall that faced closure because they could not fill essential board positions, will stay in operation, for now.
The Gleneden Hall nassociation held their annual general meeting April 27 and despite extensive promotion, no members of the public not previously associated with the hall attended, said out-going Gleneden Community Association President Monica Dahl.
Despite this, the community association’s board managed to fill their vacant positions. The association’s new president is Roger Gervais, their new vice president is Colin Gizas, the new treasurer is Sandy Gizas and the new secretary is Laura Asp.
Sharon Thurston will retain her position as booking agent.
The new officials have agreed to a two-year term but Dahl said that the hall still needs more assistance and interest from the public to operate effectively.
“We still need more people in the community to participate,” Dahl said.
Gleneden Hall will be hosting a dance on May 7 with the Barn Cats providing live music.
Another dance will be held on June 4 featuring Sierra.
