Glenn Miller used to say “A band ought to have a sound all of its own. It ought to have a personality.”
Now Kelowna audiences can find out about that personality with the arrival of one of the top big bands in the world.
The Glenn Miller Orchestra is considered one of the most popular and sought-after big bands in the world today for both concert and swing dance engagements.
With its unique jazz sound, the present Glenn Miller Orchestra was formed in 1956 and has been touring consistently since, playing an average of 300 live dates a year all around the world.
Nick Hilscher, the orchestra’s music director and vocalist, creates an atmosphere of richness as the band remains devoted to the Miller sound, interpreting such standards as String of Pearls, Tuxedo Junction, Little Brown Jug, and Pennsylvania 6-5000.
The band will play June 27 at the Kelowna Community Theatre
