God is a Scottish Drag Queen to grace the Performing Arts Centre Stage on April 12

The critically acclaimed one man show was written by award winning comedian Mike Delamont

God will be gracing the Revelstoke Performing Arts Centre stage on April 12.

Well not quite the omnipotent force from above, but at least Comedian Mike Delamont’s version.

In Delamont’s award winning one man satire, the star of the show, God, comes down to skewer everyone from Justin Bieber to the Pope, while exploring questions that have stumped philosophers and lay people alike for millenia.

Some of the subjects Delamont explores in his satire are the afterlife and evolution.

It’s sure to be a crowd pleaser.

The one man show has been a hit on the festival circuit since it first opened.

In fact, God is a Scottish Drag Queen has snagged 18 best of festival awards, is a three time Canadian Comedy Award nominee, and a two time nominee for the Just for Laughs best comedy award.

Speaking to the Kelowna Capital News, Delamont said the show bridges the gap between stand up and a one-man show.

“For a lot of people it really bridges the gap between stand up comedy and a one-man show,” the Canadian comedian said.

Delamont started his standup career in 2011.

The show grew out of a cult cabaret Atomique Vaudeville skit.

Following his performance here in Revelstoke, he will be performing in Vernon, before making his way to Florida, where he will perform in Tampa and Orlando in May.

God is a Scottish Drag Queen will show at Performing Arts Centre on April 12 at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $20.
