Award-winning musician Jim Moffatt will bring a fusion of blues, folk and rock to the Acoustic Cafe in Qualicum Beach Dec. 7.
The Victoria artist snagged the top award at the first Studio 1/ Keen Craft (Long and Mcquade) music awards in Calgary as member of the duo Bow River Lumber Company, beating out names like Jann Arden, Scott Parsons and Jenny Allen.
Jim was just making a name for himself when he went through some tough times and decided to get out, selling all his gear. Ten years later he’s back, and some say he’s better than ever.
Moffatt has played festivals and universities around the country, and ReverbNation lists him as number two in Victoria and 25th nationally.
At the Acoustic Cafe Moffatt will perform with stage partner and talented guitarist, Mike Sampson.
The Acoustic Cafe is held on the first Friday of every month at the Rotary House in Qualicum Beach located at 211 Fern Rd. West, at the corner of Beach Rd.
The evening starts with open stage acts at 7:30 p.m., followed by an intermission where coffee and dessert will be available. The feature act follows intermission and the show wraps up around 10 p.m.
Tickets are $5 from the Vintage Candy Shop on Second Ave. in Qualicum Beach, after Dec. 1, and youth and children are free.
