Residents can expect guitar mastery at the next Acoustic Cafe in Qualicum Beach with a mix of jazz, Celtic-folk, pop and classical influences.
Western Canadian Music Award Nominee Brad Prevedoros will be entertaining as the feature performer, following a host of open stage acts.
Prevedoros plays original compositions as well as reshapings of other popular work. Influences of Charlie Byrd, Django Reinhardt, Miles Davis and Bill Evans’ can be heard in his music.
In 2005, he won an ‘M’ Award in Victoria for Best Classical Performer and his recording of Firedance was included on Go West-A Vital Collection of Western Canadian Music.
The event takes place at the Qualicum Beach Rotary House on the corner of Fern and Beach Roads this Friday, Feb. 4. Doors open at 7 p.m. and residents are encouraged to come early for a seat as the last few events have sold out. Tickets are $5 at the door and organic coffee and apple crumble will be available.
