• Lions Club Easter Egg Drive-thru: April 4, 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; location TBA; The North Delta Lions Club is holding a pandemic-friendly version of its annual Easter egg hunt for kids aged 1-11. With COVID-19 safety protocols in place, all participants will be required to remain in their cars as they drive through a circuit that will feature large Easter blow-ups, the Delta fire and police departments, the Easter Bunny, a photo station and a draw for a toy- and chocolate-filled basket. Chocolate eggs and bunnies will be delivered to children through a chute directed into car windows. Registration is required by visiting northdeltalions.org before March 26.

• Free Compost Week: March 27 to April 4; Vancouver Landfill, 5400 72nd St., Delta; Delta residents are eligible to pick up a maximum of one cubic metre of free compost per vehicle, over the duration of the week-long event. Proof of residency is required (e.g. driver’s licence, property tax notice, utility bill).
• Container Gardening: March 31, 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.; via Zoom; Hosted by Fraser Valley Regional Library. Got a balcony? A driveway? A tiny back yard? Then you can container garden. Whether it’s flowers or vegetables, gardening has evolved so that everyone can be a green thumb no matter where they live. Join us for a discussion full of tips, ideas and success stories. • Seniors Weekly Golf: Starting March 29, 8 a.m.; Sunshine Woods Golf Centre, 10646 64th Ave., Delta; Seniors weekly golf registration and play begins March 29 and 30. All seniors — ladies and men — 60 years and older are welcome. The $10 registration fee covers tournaments and handicap maintenance for the season but does not include green fees. • Delta Virtual Triathlon: May 1-16, various locations; In an effort to encourage residents to remain active during the COVID-19 pandemic, while also maintaining the health and safety guidelines set by the provincial health order, the City of Delta is excited to announce the Delta Virtual Triathlon. While the swim component will require pre-registration for lane space at Ladner Outdoor Pool, the bike and run components can be completed at any time between May 1 and 16. Maps for suggested run and bike routes will be available for all participants. Registration opens on March 17 for Delta residents and March 31 for non-Delta residents.
