The Harrison Festival Society continues the year-long celebration with a virtual market later this month.
The virtual Artisan Market will run from Nov. 26 to 29 on the Harrison Festival Website at www.harrisonfestival.com. The market is free of charge and will feature B.C.-based artists, artistic service providers and local Harrison businesses.
2020 aside, the Artisan Market was and continues to be among the Harrison Festival of the Arts most recognizable attractions.

“A long stretch of 50+ canopies along the lagoon beachfront with the lake and mountains acting as a picturesque background,” a statement from the Harrison Festival Society said, describing the market. “Not only does it provide the artisans with a massive amount of people to admire and purchase their wares, but it also provides a boost to the local economy by being one of the largest tourist attractions in the summer months.”
This version of the market aims to provide the same support to the provincial art scene as well as local businesses that the previous, more normal markets have achieved.
“We want to reduce our limitations and try to capture the spirit of our July Festival as best as we can through virtual means,” Festival organizers said.

The web page will feature a large gallery of artisans sorted into different categories. The pictures link directly to artist, service and business websites, allowing participants to shop freely and locally just in time for the holiday season and right from the comfort of home.
The Festival Society continues to seek artists and businesses interested in joining the Artisan Market. There are a few qualifiers and an entry fee of $20; those interested can contact Bryan Cutler, marketing and administrative manager, at 604-796-3664 or email info@harrisonfestival.com for more information. The proceeds from the entry fee go directly to advertising the market. Nov. 20 is the final day to apply as a vendor.
With the 2020 Festival cancelled due to COVID-19, the Festival Society organized a number of events throughout the year, including online concerts featuring Festival veterans and newcomers from all over the world spanning a wide variety music genres.
