Midsummer has ever been associated with magical happenings and to celebrate that, Hazel Lennox will be spinning magical tales of magical beings on Sunday, June 26 at 2 p.m. at the Bayside Café on Cliffe Avenue, opposite Driftwood Mall.  The Bayside Café is a new venture for Dave Keelan, recently resettled in the Comox Valley where he grew up, and was formerly Serious Coffee.

“I’m going to tell stories of changelings, and silkies and other intriguing entities that have captivated human imagination for centuries,” said Lennox. “Just because we live in a highly materialistic world where so much of our ‘entertainment’ is violent and lauds characteristics like greed and selfishness, doesn’t mean that’s how the world is.  I seek to bring listeners to places in their own hearts and minds where problems are solved in unimagined ways and we can remember our delight and joy in a world that encompassed a much deeper reality.  We need stories to inspire us and spark our imagination – there’s enough ghastliness to last a lifetime at the moment.”

Hazel is a seasoned teller of tales and has told at international festivals in Britain, Canada and the U.S. as well as India.

Welcome Dave back to the Valley, kick back with a drink and a goodie and be transported to a world that is both familiar and different – the world of story.  Admission is by donation.
