Heartfelt harmonies

Not only does Raine Hamilton sing and play acoustic guitar, she also sings while playing the violin

It’s fairly common to see someone plucking away on an acoustic guitar and singing songs of the good old days.

But Winnipeg-based singer/songwriter Raine Hamilton, who is taking the Spinners Sound Centre stage Aug. 13, takes it a step further. Not only does she sing and play acoustic guitar, she also sings while playing the violin.

Born to a musical family, Hamilton weaves humour and heartfelt vulnerability throughout her show.

“Storytelling is a big part of my live show,” Hamilton said.

Hamilton recently played a house show in Vernon, and is excited for the opportunity to come back.

“The Okanagan is a beautiful space,” Hamilton said. “I think that people of the Okanagan are appreciative of beautiful things, especially with art.”

Hamilton plays Spinners Sound Centre, 3107-30th Ave., Aug. 13. Music starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are available from Spinners for $20 in advance and at the door.
