The Hip Show is coming to Party in the Park.
Renowned Tragically Hip tribute band, The Hip Show, will be the closing act of the summer’s Party in the Park finale this Friday night.
“This is the premier Tragically Hip tribute,” says Party in the Park entertainment coordinator Trevor McDonald. “[It’s] a special tribute to an iconic Canadian band to end our Party in the Park and Canada’s 150th birthday celebration.”
Party in the Park has run every Friday night in July with loads of local talent on the Chances Chilliwack Community Stage. The organizers wanted to cap off the month-long party with something special and uniquely Canadian, and it doesn’t get much more Canadian than a live set of Tragically Hip songs.
Aside from the music, Party in the Park offers lots of kids activities in and around the park, a pop-up market, food trucks and more.
Things kick off at 5 p.m. this Friday, July 28 at Central Community Park (and the surrounding area) with a performance by Evolutionz Dance Studio, followed by musical acts Erik & Brittany, Sound Faith, Maggpie and Horsepower. The Hip Show takes the stage at 9 p.m.
“This is a show any Hip fan will not want to miss,” says McDonald.
