Wednesdays on the Wharf, Lunchbox Stage and Jazz at the Plaza are sure to get the community up and dancing through the warm summer months.

Wednesdays on The Wharf, a series of concerts put on by the Arts Council and the Salmon Arm Downtown Association, is back with music ranging from folk to gypsy jazz and everything in between.

Listeners are invited to take a lawn chair or blanket to Marine Park and enjoy the concerts, which begin at 6:45 each Wednesday until the end of August.

July 2 will feature 14-year-old Olivia, who will wow the crowd with her laid-back pop stylings. Jug band Seal Skull Hammer will take the stage on July 9 and the Elk Tribe will follow on July 16. Vancouver band Headwater will liven up the evening with their folk inspired tunes on July 23. On July 30, Nori Braun will perform her roots/rock combination of songs and on August 6, Blackberry Wood will entice audiences with their gypsy-jazz circus music feel.

Roots and Blues will present folk rock and reggae band Jon and Roy on Aug. 13.

Wednesdays on the Wharf will wrap up with the Celtic stylings of popular Cod Gone Wild on Aug. 20 and local band The Salmon Armenians on Aug. 27.

Lunch hours over the summer will be grooving with the return of the Lunchbox Stage music series. The Ross Street stage will feature an eclectic mix of performers throughout July and August. Shows kick off at 12:30 p.m. and run for an hour.

Pop punk band My Paper Moon will start off the series on July 14, and Nice Verdes will take the stage to perform their uplifting acoustic tunes on July 11.

Gigi and the Gigolos will perform on July 18 and Lonesome Ed will follow on July 25.

Jazz musicians Jordan Dick and Willy Gaw will perform on Aug. 1 and The Greenbank Trio will thrill audiences with their folk-rock jams.

Listeners will enjoy smooth, folk country tunes from Good Enough For Dad on Aug. 15. Instrumental hip-hop and funk group the Garrett Sayers Trio will share the stage with jazz band Safeword on Aug. 22.

The final day of Lunchbox stage will feature Phoenix Goldsmith on August 29.

Thursdays in Salmon Arm will be jazzed up this summer as Jazz at the Plaza returns for five shows, every second Thursday in July and August. The shows will start at 7 p.m. at the Ross Street Plaza.

 

Something Nice will kick off the series on July 3, and Willy Gaw and Friends will perform on July 17. Jazz Handles will take over the stage on July 31, and Perlhaze, who will also be performing at Roots and Blues, will perform on Aug. 14. Safeword will conclude the series on Aug. 28.
