‘How We Got Gay’: Pride Week documentaries screened at Surrey KPU campus

SURREY — A pair of acclaimed CBC documentaries will be screened here as part of Pride Week activities.

KDocs Community Outreach, a partnership with Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU), ,will bring “How We Got Gay” and “Transforming Gender” to its Surrey campus on Thursday, July 28, from 6 to 9 p.m.

The post-screening panel discussion will involve KPU students, faculty and community activists. Participants will include moderator Brandy Svendson, founder of Be the Change Group Inc., and keynote speaker Gerald Walton, author of “The Gay Agenda.”

The event is free to attend, but seating is limited. The location is 12666 72nd Ave., Surrey, in the Fir Building’s room 128.
