Brent Tyler and his Big Love Band of Rob Vulic, Josip Vulic and Garth Kennedy will be hitting Vernon Friday.

They will be at the Hub Arts Collective, performing soulful and heartfelt songs influenced by the likes of Martin Sexton, Jeff Buckley and Dave Matthews.

“Big Acoustic Love. This is the best description of Tyler’s music and live performance. An aggressive acoustic style combined with lungs befit of his seven-foot stature,” says a release.

“Tyler balances the soft subtlety of honest and introspective folk music with soulful and powerful pop hooks and melodies born of his childhood influences and contemporary crushes.”

After releasing his second album, In Rhythm, in the summer of 2010, Tyler has spent the last two years adding highway kilometres and industry experience to his already accomplished resume.

Highlights include opening for Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Lorne Elliot, Julian Austin and Joel Plaskett.

Recently, he has shared stages with other accomplished Canadian artists such as Wil, CR Avery, Ari Neufeld and The Polyjesters.

The show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance at the Hub or at Bean Scene, or $15 at the door. The Hub is located at 2906 30th Ave.
