She’s back!
Bonnie Kilroe and her one-woman tour de force, Divas: Vegas Meets Vaudeville, is back in Langley next week.
The celebrity impersonator – who brings to life the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Dolly Parton, Cher, Lady Gaga, and even Mae West and Edith Bunker – returns to Cascades Casino’s Summit Theatre on Thursday, Oct. 13.
“Bonnie Kilroe has been brining Divas to audiences for more than a decade,” said show promoter Rob Warwick. “Not content with the status quo, she is constantly seeking new ways to thrill and delight” with her multi-media shows.
It’s been a few years since she was in Langley, and she is excited to return.
Her show is followed the very next Thursday, Oct. 20, by a concert from Prism.
Again, in a return performance at Cascades, this iconic rock group has enjoyed the limelight since the early 1980s.
On Sunday, March 6, 2011 the crew of STS-133 Discovery were awakened by the soaring lyrics of Spaceship Superstar, to begin the last day of that shuttle’s final mission.
Such is the legacy of this Canadian group headed up by longest standing band member Al Harlow.

Touring with baby
Winnipeg singer and songwriter Jaylene Johnson – whose music has been heard on Pretty Little Liars, Degrassi: The Next Generation, and So You Think You Can Dance – is performing in Langley.
The pop artists just released her new album, Potter & Clay, and releases her first single from that album, Find Us, on Friday.
Well, she will be in Langley for two shows and a workshop next week.
She’ll share songs from the new album, as well as stories of her personal and professional battles that include recovering from a head-on collision in 2004, a rare intubation injury in 2012 that left her with severe vocal damage, and her challenges with infertility.
Johnson is now doing a month-long cross-Canada tour with her husband and her five-month-old baby, Macey.
“It’s a year of two births, in a way,” said Johnson, “I feel extremely blessed.”
She performs first at Trinity Western University’s chapel on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 11 a.m.
She’s also leading an interactive songwriting workshop Saturday at the North Langley Community Church (21015 96th Ave.) from 9 a.m. to noon. Admission is $20/adults and $15/students. Then on Sunday Oct. 16, she will offer special musical interludes for all three morning services at church.
