Don’t be late for this important date.
Milner Gardens and Woodland is hosting it’s third annual Mad Hatter Tea Party Saturday Oct. 4.
This fun-filled event features a classic full Afternoon High Tea. The menu will consist of assorted sandwiches, sweets and scones with Devon Cream. Tea and coffee — served in bone china cups, of course — will also be included.
Alongside lunch, there will be a selection of themed games throughout the afternoon. Pin the Grin on the Cheshire Cat and White Rabbit Countdown are just a couple on the agenda.
Party-goers are invited to get into the spirit by donning a mad hat, period dress or a Wonderland-themed costume. Of course, attendees can just come as themselves if they wish.
For those who do come in costume, there will be prizes for Best Female, Best Male, Best Hat and Best Overall. There will also be prizes awarded to game winners.
Guests will be seated for tea around 12:30-1 p.m. The gardens will still be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day, and Mad Hatter participants are welcome to wander the gardens and Gnome Village before or after the Tea.
All prizes will be awarded at 3 p.m., and winners must be present to earn their prizes.
Tickets for the Mad Hatter Tea are $19.95 per person, plus garden admission. Garden admission is $5.25 for adults, $3.15 for students (13-18, and non-VIU post-secondary students), and free for children 12 and under with an accompanied adult. VIU students also enter free with valid student ID.
As space in the tea room is limited to 55 people, reservations are required for this event. Please contact Carol at 250-752-8573 ext. 224 or carol.milnergardens@shaw.ca to book your spot. Note that you will be contacted to confirm your reservation.
