The Old School House Arts Centre resumes its Music on Sunday series this weekend with the saxophone stylings of the Allison Au Quartet March 13.
Au is a Toronto-based saxophonist, composer and arranger who formed the quartet in 2009. Since then, it has performed at major Jazz venues across Canada and has earned two JUNO Award nominations: one for their 2013 debut release The Sky Was Pale Blue, Then Grey, and a second for their most recent release in 2016 entitled Forest Grove.
Au is joined in thejazz quartet by Todd Pentney on piano, Dan Fortin on bass and Fabio Ragnelli on drums. Together, they will share a captivating blend of original compositions and well-known jazz standards.
Sunday’s concert begins at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $16 and are available in advance at TOSH, 122 Fern Road West in Qualicum Beach.
