Music will be the medium to grow funds for a community garden at a Canoe restaurant.

Jennis, a folk/roots duo from Ontario will perform at The Hive at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 7.

Dennis Gaumond (Gomo) has been pushing the musical envelope in the blues/roots/folk scene for decades, playing guitar, dobro, harmonica, wazinator and banjitar.

Jen Gillmor has been rocking the indie scene with diversity and passion on bass, cello, didgeridoo, flute and jaw harp.

Jennis’ quirky originals from their new CD, The Current, celebrate the mysteries and the poignancy of life, rooted in an unapologetic faith in peace and love as the highest powers.

The duo also entertains with an eclectic array of covers ranging from Bob Marley to Nina Simone – all given a distinctly original twist.
