The Oceanside Community Arts Council and the Parksville and District Association for Community Living will present a free public presentation Wednesday, April 24 at the MAC with Gale Woodhouse from the Vernon Community Arts Centre, sponsored by ArtsBC. Woodhouse will introduce their successful community development program, Joining Hands; Encouraging Ability in the Arts.
Joining Hands is an exemplary program that assists and provides adults living with disabilities varied opportunities to explore and develop their artistic abilities with other people of common interests.
The project accommodates beginner, emerging and established artists, giving them the opportunity to be a part of something tangible in their community through artistic and creative expression. After the presentation Woodhouse will facilitate a planning session.
