Juno award-winning Lemon Bucket Orkestra plays two Comox Valley shows this weekend

Playing Hornby Island and Denman Island, April 15 and 16, respectively.

The Lemon Bucket Orkestra have kicked off 2016 with a bang!

Fresh on the heels of their 2016 Juno award for World Album of the Year (for their 2015 release, Moorka), the group hits the road on a spring tour, which includes two local stops – Hornby Island and Denman Island, April 15 and 16, respectively.

In the last year, The Lemon Bucket Orkestra took home a Canadian Folk Music Award for World Music Group of the Year and were named the best band in Toronto by NOW Magazine. The group has captivated audiences around the world with their super high-energy music and has been making waves in the theatre world with the critically acclaimed interactive folk opera, Counting Sheep, based on the band members’ first-hand experiences in the protests/revolution of dignity of 2014 and on the Ukraine/Russia warfront.

After spending the end of summer 2015 on a three-and-a-half-month tour of Europe, South Korea, and Eastern Canada, the group took a three-month break to wind down, and now they’re back to showcase the guerilla-folk-party-punk antics they are known for. Catch this high-energy show April 15 at the   Hornby Community Hall, and April 16 at the Denman Island Community Hall.

For advance tickets to the Hornby show, contact the box office at 250-335-2734 or info@hornbyfestival.bc.ca

Advance tickets for the Denman Island show are available at Abraxas Bookstore and the Denman General Store for $15, or at the door for $20 (students $5).
