Juno nominee headlines Acoustic Cafe

Open stage slots available for Friday's session at Qualicum Beach Rotary House

The monthly Qualicum Acoustic Cafe returns Friday evening with an hour of open stage performances followed by a set from Juno nominee Oliver Swain, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Rotary House in Qualicum Beach.

Swain is a two-time Prairie Music Award recipient who hails from Victoria. A banjo and bass player and vocalist with “good patter,” Swain replace previously scheduled guest Scott O’Shea, who was forced to cancel.

The open stage is open to all entertainment types. Those interested in performing for up to

10 minutes in front of an audience of up to 80, may contact organizers to schedule a slot for songs, poems, stories, comedy acts, dance or other entertainment.

Intermission will feature homemade apple crumble and coffee donated by Creekmore Coffee.

Tickets are $7, or $5 for open stage performers, and may be purchased at Diva’s Kandy & Kakes in Qualicum Beach, with a limit of four tickets per customer. To sign up for an open stage act, email John or Joyce Beaton at jabeaton@gmail.com.
