At the end of this month,KSS theatre students will bring to life a classic tale about unlikely friendships.
Based on the classic children’s novel, Kelowna Secondary School’s production of Charlotte’s Web brings alive all of the familiar characters while exploring the importance of friendship and perseverance. The play, directed by Anne-Marie Holmwood, follows the tale of Wilbur the Pig from when he is rescued by Fern Arable, to his life on the Zuckerman Farm, to his rise to fame as “some pig.”
Theatre-goers will delight in seeing Templeton the Rat, Charlotte the Spider, and the rest of the barnyard animals. Soon Wilbur discovers the harsh reality of life, and the importance of having a friend like Charlotte. It is Charlotte who saves the day when she begins to write compliments about him in her web.
Quickly the whole town begins to notice, and treats Wilbur like a prize pig. Audiences both big and small will laugh and cry with the many memorable moments that make this story so well-loved.
The show runs from Wednesday, April 29 to Saturday, May 2. Curtain will be at 7pm for all shows.
