KISS coming to Kelowna

Heavy rock band KISS will bring its elaborate show to Prospera Place July 8.

Break out the face paint and get ready to rock and roll all night. Heavy rockers KISS are coming to town this summer.

The band, fronted by Gene Simmons, will bring its 2013 Monster world tour to Kelowna’s Prospera Place July  8 after kicking off the Canadian leg of the tour July 5 inVictoria and then playing Rogers Arena in Vancouver July 6.

Tickets for the Kelowna show go on sale this Friday and will cost $90 and $126 each.

KISS has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide since it was founded by Simmons in the 1970s. It’s four members perform is black and white face paint and studded, leather outfits. It’s elaborate stage shows features fire breathing, smoke, fake blood and guitars that shoot stars.

The band’s hits include Rock and Roll All Nite, I Was Made For Lovin’ You and Beth.

In June, the band will play as series of concerts in Europe before traveling across Canada in July and August as part of the tour.

Simmons is also well known for his popular reality show, Gene Simmons Family Jewels, which centres on his family life with wife, former Playboy model ShannonTweed, who is Canadian, and his kids Nick and daughter Sophie.
