Sir Alcwyn Roberts (left), on Lancelot, and Sir Valentine Sever, on Percival, joust during the 8th annual B.C. Renaissance Festival, Sunday at the Albion Fairgrounds in Maple Ridge. Roberts and Sever are members of the Jousting Alliance of Washington State. B.C. Ren Fest took visitors on a journey through the 1500s, in Shire Steller’s Grove with King Henry VIII and the notorious Jade Dragon Pirate crew. Besides jousting, the festival featured a man-powered carousel and swing, games of horseshoes and boules, archery, cannon fire and rat-a-pult, as well as a quarterstaff challenge, a shooting gallery and a town insulter.
