There’s a myriad of reasons to go check out the jazz trio Myriad at the Church of the Advent in Colwood on Sunday (I know, I know, but it writes itself.)

This Jazz Vesper performance features three talented Toronto-based jazz musicians, including pianist Chris Donnelly, who has played at the Advent solo before.

The trio is truly a jazz collective: There is no leader, just three skilled musicians doing what they do best.

Check out this Friday’s Gazette for a full article on the band.

As for movies, if you’re like me and appreciate movies that are dumb, raunchy and excessive, be sure to check out Piranha 3DD opening this weekend.

A sequel to 2010’s guilty (but so not guilty) pleasure Piranha 3D, this won’t exactly be Oscar bait, but I respect an exploitation movie that knows what it is and has fun with it. Plus David Hasselhoff is in it, so you really can’t go wrong.
