Ladysmith residents from years gone by are getting ready to reunite.Former Ladysmith resident Russ Chambers is one of the forces behind an event aimed at gathering former residents from the 1920s, 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s in the Eagles Hall.“I’ve probably been in contact to 40 or 50 people,” said Chambers, who said at least 30 of those have committed to attending the event.Chambers said organizing the event has put him in touch with old friends he hasn’t spoken to in ages. And the old stories are already flying out, said Chambers.Chambers, who now lives in Kamloops, is also encouraging people to bring an old photo of themselves in Ladysmith. The Eagles Hall can fit around 150 people so Chambers is asking people to sign up soon. There will be a dinner, but no host bar. There will hopefully be a jam session for those musically inclined.Registration will cost around $20 depending on how many register. To take part, e-mail Chambers at ladysmithreunion@gmail.com.
