An intriguing collaboration of sound and motion featuring a professional dance company from Parksville will take place at the Malaspina Theatre at Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo on Saturday, April 13.
Helix Dance Theatre presents Movement and Muse, where dancers will be joined by three-time Vancouver Island Music Award winner Ryan McMahon.
This performance is one of two fundraisers for Helix Dance Theatre, a non-profit pre-professional youth dance company in Parksville.
The company brings dancers from numerous dance studios across the Island to create a pre-professional training environment. It is currently starting its fourth season. The show is also a platform for experience, exposure and training for these young aspiring dancers.
Ryan McMahon lives in Ladysmith. He has toured the country 15 times and says he has played the best and the worst rooms the nation has to offer. He has shared the stage with all kinds of artists, ranging from Lisa Loeb to Nickelback.
Movement and Muse begins at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 13. Tickets are $15 and available from Shades of Green in Parksville — $12 for students, $20 at door.
