Langley gallery looking for artworks that fit with butterfly theme

The Fort Gallery's juried show is inviting submissions.

Contemporary artists have until Wednesday, June 15 to submit entries for Fort Gallery’s second annual juried show.

This year’s show, called Metaphoric Monarch, runs July 20 to Aug. 7 and will feature 2D and 3D artists.

For this year’s exhibit, they are focusing on the monarch butterfly as a locus for global metaphors:  metamorphosis, migration, endangerment, etc. – all are notions embodied in and associated with the monarch butterfly, but which have further relevance and implications for humanity and the world we live in.

“The gallery invites submissions that reflect on these or other concepts relating to, but not necessarily incorporating, the monarch.  The exhibition encourages contemporary modes of artistic expression,” they said in a press release.
