Langley Ribfest expected to draw over 40,000

The first-ever Langley Ribfest is expected to draw over 40,000 people to the three-day event at McLeod Athletic Park in August, organizers said.

The event will feature world-renowned rib artists such as Boss Hogs, Gator BBQ against the North Vancouver favourites, Smoke and Bones Barbecue, Fraser Valley’s Guerilla Q and Prairie Smoke & Spice BBQ.

Prairie Smoke and Spice is Canada’s Winningest BBQ Team with well over 180 awards and 18 grand championships, more than any team in the country.

Presented by The Credit Unions of Langley and hosted by the four Rotary Clubs of Langley, the free event is open to families of all ages with live music and family entertainment throughout the day.

There will be adult and family beer gardens, fresh corn and award winning ribs from champion ribbers.

All proceeds will go to support charities in Langley.

It is scheduled for August 17, 18 and 19th 2018.

Organizers are looking for 250 volunteers to act as event hosts, sell 50/50 tickets, handle registration and cleanup among other tasks.

The original Canadian Ribfest was organized by the Rotary Club of Burlington Lakeshore that started in 1996.

It is Canada’s largest Ribfest and has so far raised $3 million dollars
