The new album of local country music performers, Robyn and Ryleigh launches Thursday Jan. 14 at Gabby’s Country Cabaret and the Gillespie sisters are more than a little excited about sharing the album called By Heart with their fans.
“We have some really cool songs that we’re super proud of on this album,” the girls said in an email to the Langley Advance. “We wrote some of them in Nashville while we were there and now we know why so many artists go there… it just brings something out in you. Creativity just starts to flow. The spirit of Nashville is amazing. We can’t wait to go back there.”
The popular duo is often seen around Langley performing at local events or even being filmed for a scene for a TV movie. In December they were part of Appetite for Love which will air on Feb. 6 and features two of the pair’s songs.
Other planned performances include trips to Toronto for a radio promo tour, shows and radio promos in Alberta, and a visit to the new Elements Casino (formerly Fraser Downs) in Surrey in late February.
“We’ve got some local summer gigs that we will be posting soon on our webpage,” they noted. “We will announce them all at once when everything comes together.”
One might think having a sister as a business partner would be too much togetherness, but apparently not for this duo.
“We are incredibly lucky to have each other to go through this with, to grow and learn along the way together,” they said. “We also have an amazing team and family that helps us in so many ways.”
There is no sitting back and reflecting for these girls, they already have ideas in action for the next album.
“The possibilities are endless,” they said. “We really hope everyone likes what we have created with this album. We called it By Heart not only because it was one of our songs and most recent single, but because it truly is an album from the heart.”
Obviously the launch at Gabby’s is their biggest current news and they promise there will be albums available for purchase while fans take in the live performance showcase of new songs. Doors for the show open at 8 p.m.
