Langley talent honoured at BC Country Music Association Awards

Some of the top country musicians in British Columbia were honoured Oct. 22 at the 41st annual BC Country Music Association Awards, including several Langley talents.

Longtime Langley resident Karen Lee Batten, who co-hosted the awards show at Coquitlam’s Molson Canadian Theatre, was honoured with the female vocalist of the year and presidents citation awards.

Linda Corscadden, the organization’s president, won the Don Adam’s Country Music Person the Year award.

Musician Aaron Pritchett, who used to call Langley home, was named male vocalist of the year and won video of the year for song When a Momma’s Boy Meets a Daddy’s Girl.

Popular night spot Gabby’s Country Cabaret was named as country venue of the year.
