Last chance to learn from songwriting masters

Submissions for the 17th annual Bill Henderson/Roy Forbes Songwriters Intensive Workshop and Showcase are due Dec. 31.

The George Ryga Centre has issued a final reminder for songwriters to get their submissions in for the 17th annual Bill Henderson/Roy Forbes Songwriters Intensive Workshop and Showcase.

The deadline to apply for the workshop is Dec. 31.

The workshops, led by legendary songwriter-singers Henderson (of Chilliwack fame)  and Forbes (aka Bim), will be held at Summerland’s George Ryga Centre on April 21 and 22.

“Registration is limited and songwriters should register immediately by submitting a tape/CD of their music (no more than two songs), with two sets of typewritten lyrics,” said Ryga Centre manager Ken Smedley.

In addition, those registering should send in a $30 submission fee payable by cheque or money order to the George Ryga Centre.

“Full cost of the songwriters intensive/workshop/showcase is $250 in the event that your work is selected for the workshop intensive,” said Smedley.

Submissions can be sent to Henderson/Forbes Songwriters Workshop, c/o Ken Smedley, Box 323, Armstrong, B.C., VOE 1BO.
