Caroline Woodward and her husband Jeff have spent nearly 10 years serving at lighthouses around Vancouver Island, most recently the Lennard Island Lightstation, visible from the west coast shore near Tofino.
Woodward has written a book called Light Years: Memoir of a Modern Lighthouse Keeper, which paints a vivid picture their experiences.
Woodward will present a slideshow of stunning photos and a spirited talk about life as a lightkeeper as part of the next Port Alberni Maritime Heritage Night, Thursday, May 26 at 7 p.m.
Maritime Heritage Night presentations take place at the Hutcheson Gallery on Lighthouse Pier, in front of the red and white lighthouse on Harbour Road.
Admission is by donation or Maritime Heritage Society membership.
