Library serves up funny business

The Salmon Arm branch hosts the summer reading club for children aged five to 12.

The theme for this summer’s club is “Funny Business,” and will feature a variety of events.

The club kicks off July 5 with a drop-in storytelling and activity event at 10:30 a.m. July 8 will be a goofy afternoon with a special appearance from Uncle Chris the Clown. The hilarity begins at 1 p.m. and no registration is required. Drop-in improv games will take place on July 10 at 11 a.m. and another clown-themed event will follow on July 12 at 10:30 a.m.

Registration is required for an origami session at 3 p.m. July 15. Kids will be able to drop in on July 17 at 11 a.m. to hear stories about fairy tales.

Registration is required for a LEGO masterpieces session at 3 p.m. July 22 and July 24 at 11 a.m. Children are invited to drop in and drop on the floor to get some reading done at 10:30 a.m. July 26. A mad scientist will make a special appearance on July 31 at 1 p.m. – registration required.
